“It is out of the question the religious feeling in Greece to accept second Easter with blockades”, Metropolitan Anthimos of Alexandroupolis stressed on Monday morning.
Speaking to ANT1 television station, Metropolitan Anthimos – although during the first phase of the pandemic last March he was one of the first metropolitans to call on the faithful to “limit their coming to the temples” and to observe “the protocols given to us by state officials and scientists”- clarified that “there is no case on the 15th of August not to hold processions in honor of the Virgin “and added that “the church has passed the exams successfully so far, therefore such discussions by some about processions should be stopped.”
In closing, the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis recommended that there should be no extremism on the part of the state, because, as he characteristically stated, “if there are, they will not be implemented.”
