The Standing Holy Synod of Greece in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs decided that the consecration for the beginning of the school year in all schools of Greece – as every year – will take place on the first day of their operation, i.e. on September 14.
According to the announcement of the Standing Holy Synod that was issued after Its meeting, the school sanctification will take place at a time that will be commonly agreed by the local priests and the school principals, taking into account the Divine Liturgy of the great feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
It is emphasized that during the sanctifications, all the proposed health provisions concerning the prevention and precaution from Covid – 19 will apply.
The Standing Holy Synod expressed Its satisfaction for the textbooks of the Religious Studies, for which was informed by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.
Also, the Standing Holy Synod decided that on October 1, Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens and All Greece will officially announce the program of events of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece to celebrate the two hundred years since the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
