Metropolitan Theodosius of Kananga was at the Theological School of Kinshasa in order to deliver courses to the students before the end of the academic year.
Besides, about forty students come from his Metropolis. The Theological School of the Metropolis of Kinshasa serves the needs of theological training of clergy, candidate clergy, lay associates for the Metropolises of Katanga and Kananga.
On this occasion he ordained the graduate deacon student of the Theological School coming from the Metropolis of Fr. Michael so that the graduate can travel to the distant Sankuru district in one month, where he comes from, to take on his duties of priesthood and start his missionary activity.
He is the first clergyman to be ordained from this distant area.
Metropolitan Theodosius told him, “Today, all the saints of God are parading in front of you. Their flag is the Cross of Christ. The Cross, which our Holy Church now places on your shoulders. That will be your own flag. With that flag you will go ahead. The Cross will be your support, your weapon and your pride. You will succeed because all saints will protect you. The blessing of our Patriarch will protect you.”
Metropolitan Theodosius conveyed to all the students the wishes of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa and thanked Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kinshasa for the contribution of the Metropolis of Kinshasa through the Theological School to his own Metropolis.
