The Diocese of Banja Luka, headed by Bishop Jafrem of Banja Luka, has donated 12,500 special professional protective masks to the University Clinical Centre of Republika Srpska worth 100,000 Boasnian marks to contribute to the fight against the coronary virus.
The executive director of the University Clinical Centre of the Republic Srpska Dr Vlado Dajic expressed his gratitude to the Diocese of Banja Luka for a very valuable donation, pointing out that the Serbian Orthodox Church had shown that it is constantly with their people even in the most difficult times.
The personal secretary of Bishop Jefrem, protodeacon Radojica Zagran, said that the donation from the Serbian Orthodox Church had been initiated by Bishop Jefrem in consultation with the management of the University Clinical Centre and their current needs for fighting against coronavirus. The protodeacon pointed out that the Diocese of Banja Luka also paid 72,000 Bosnian marks to the Solidarity Fund of the Republic Srpska as a token of support of the people and the Government of that Republic in the fight against the pandemic of coronavirus.
“The Church, like a mother taking care for her spiritual children, has been praying that this distress might pass and invites all the faithful and other people of goodwill who live here among us to observe the measures prescribed by the Government and the Ministry of Health of the Republic Srpska to fight against the coronal virus,” said protodeacon Radojica Zagran, secretary of Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka.
