Students are the best ambassadors of unity among the Orthodox Churches

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, the 1st Theological Seminary of foreign scholars of the Holy Synod was held to implement the decision of the Holy Synod.

The President of the Synodical Committee for Inter-Orthodox and Inter-Christian Relations, Metropolitan Ignatios of Dimitrias, after welcoming the participants, expressed his pleasure for the realization of the event, which offers the opportunity for foreign students to get to know each other, to communicate their progress in scientific research and of course to speak the Greek language, which they learn during their studies.

He also emphasized the fact that students are the best ambassadors and guarantors of the unity among the Orthodox Churches, since returning to their home countries they will convey the love and true interest of the Church of Greece.

Then, the message by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece was read, in which he expressed his satisfaction that 33 foreign scholars of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece have attained a theological level and know the Greek language in order to introduce issues on Theology.

The Archbishop asked the students to continue their efforts to become valuable members and guarantors of Inter-Orthodox unity in their Churches.
