Metropolitan of Piraeus: Vulnerable Groups should protect themselves

Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus

Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus spoke on the SKAI television station about the decision of the Holy Synod to continue offering the Holy Communion in spite of the coronavitus epidemic.

“The church is a society of free people. She does not impose her doctrine or her faith on anyone. The metaphysical has been seen in the reality of the church for 2,000 years. Who can deny the miracle? The mystery of Eucharist is an uncreated reality,” the Metropolitan of Piraeus said.

However, he explained that the Holy Synod called on vulnerable groups to protect themselves. “Vulnerable groups must protect both themselves and the others. Even if someone has a simple virus should not go to a place and spread his/her disease,” Metropolitan Seraphim added.
