A submission of resignation by aged and with serious health problems Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Peristeri is only a matter of time.
Nevertheless, no letter of resignation has officially been sent by Elder Chrysostomos to the Chancellery of the Holy Synod for the president Archbishop Ieronymos.
According to information, the Archbishop has frequent telephone communications with the Metropolitan to whom Elder Chrysostomos has announced his intention to resign due to his health problems.
Today, Saturday, February 23, His Eminence visited the ill Metropolitan of Peristeri, had a warm conversation for a couple of hours, and discussed many issues.
It should be noted that, from the first moment that the Metropolitan of Peristeri dealt with health issues, Ieronymos stood by his side with reverence, and did not send a special committee that would remove the former from his position.
The results of today‘s meeting between the Archbishop and the Metropolitan of Peristeri shall be revealed in the next few days, if the Hierarchy proceeds to elections of the three Holy Metropolis.
