Metropolitan of N. Ionia: Prudence and unity against the asymmetric coronavirus threat

Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia

Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia referred to the invisible threat of the coronavirus. “An invisible enemy whose course is uknown to everybody. We strive to remain calm and strong in order to have the wisdom and seriousness needed and the unity of our people to face the asymmetric threat of the coronavirus.”

Metropolitan Gabriel spoke to Gerasimos Manolides on RISE TV, on the role of the Church during the quarantine and the murderous onslaught of the coronavirus.

As he characteristically stated, “the threat of the coronavirus has changed our lives. We keep a necessary distance, not because I’m afraid of you, but because I love you and in your face I love each of our brothers; I have to think that at this moment I’m not alone, I’m not looking at myself. In this simple way we can experience a spirit of love.”
