Metropolitan of Messinia: Respect for fellow human being is part of our faith

Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia sent an encyclical to the faithful to inform them on the prevention of coronavirus spread (Covid-19).

As Metropolitan Chrysostomos points out, the sense of charity and solidarity of Christians requires respect for fellow human beings as part of our faith.

After having issued the necessary recommendations to the faithful on how to protect themselves from the coronavirus, he reiterates that the Holy Communion cannot become a source of disease and that conscious Christians know that the Communion, that is, the relationship, is a fruit of love and freedom, precisely because it disregards suspicion, reservation and fears.

Finally, he makes clear that the temples will continue to operate, and calls on the faithful to freely participate or abstain from the liturgies, always respecting the faith and choice of everybody.
