“The Church has reached its ultimate limit. We have been disconnected from our oxygen,” Metropolitan Pavlos of Drama said to ANT1 television station, wondering why the churches have been closed, since the supermarkets were left open.

“The Divine Liturgy should be performed, even in a representative presence of 4-5 people,” Metropolitan Pavlos estimated, stressing that “they saw the Divine Liturgy as a theatrical performance and that has upset us.”

“This can’t be impleented to the whole of Greece,” he said and asked “if I go to a village of three people to perform a service, will they get sick?”

“Those who have spoken to the government are responsible,” the Metropolitan said meaningfully.

He, finally, linked the soup kitchens to the operation of the church, both for the safety of those who cook and for the financial support that comes from the church.
