Speaking at Romfea.gr, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk stressed that “our meeting was short, but took place in a very warm and heartfelt atmosphere. I conveyed to His Beatitude the wishes of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The Archbishop, for his part, wished the Patriarch of Moscow health and to have the help of God in his ministry.”

He also added that “we discussed various issues of mutual interest, and for my part I stressed the warm desire of the Church of Russia and its willingness to preserve and strengthen the Pan-Orthodox unity. We love the Greek people, we have a common Orthodox faith, and we are members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. That is why we are called to contribute with all our might to work for its unity.”

“At our meeting two Synodic Archpriests were also present, Metropolitan Nicholas of Mesogaia and Metropolitan David of Grevena. After the meeting, I also had the pleasure of saluting the rest of the Synodic Hierarchs,” Metropolitan Hilarion said.
