A letter to Metropolitan bishop Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, was reportedly sent by Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kiev of the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine.
In his letter, Metropolitan Epiphanius expresses his sorrow to Metropolitan Amfilohije for the participation of the schismatic Archimandrite Boris in a Divine Liturgy that he recently officiated in Kiev.
” If someone was harmed by this event, then we assure you that this did not happen intentionally,” Epiphanius says.
Metropolitan Epiphanius also underlines that the error is due to negligence, and asks Metropolitan Amfilohije to understand that it was not deliberate.
“I understand that you have been saddened by the fact, but I want to tell you that upon receiving Tomos, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has and maintains church-canonical communication with the First Holy See and Mother Church, the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and only with the Churches with which the Ecumenical Patriarchate communicates,” Epiphanius added to his letter.
