Full observance of the protection measures by the churches in the Archdiocese of Cyprus

The Holy Temples of the Archdiocese were found to implement excellently the protection and hygiene measures, welcoming the faithful, from the morning hours of Monday, May 4, after a two-day inspection carried out at all temples in the region by officials of the Holy Archdiocese, at the behest of the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos.

The Archbishop, as he personally assured the President of the Republic of Cyprus, will always ensure the proper observance of all measures of protection in the temples, so that there is no case due to negligence or indifference.

By his own order, officials of the Holy Archdiocese went to the churches of Nicosia and the suburbs, which belong to the Archdiocese, for on-site inspection and to answer to questions of the priests and believers, regarding the recently released encyclical of the Archbishop.

“The exemplary responsibility, order and cleanliness of the temples, the positive reception of the encyclical by our faithful, the total discipline in the instructions of the ecclesiastical commissioners and the sense of optimism for a complete lifting of measures very soon” were some of the points observed by the mission team in the churches. “And all this,” the report concludes, “not by chance, but as further evidence that the Church as Mother has always been the safe haven for man, the place of healing of the soul and body, and not any man-made and unsteady organization.”
