Archbishop of Cyprus: Up to 10 faithful in churches during the liturgies, then lock the doors

Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus

In the encyclical to the priests regarding the measures to prevent the coronavirus spread, Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus urges them to accept only ten people in the church during the liturgy and, if more faithful come, to lock the doors.

According to the encyclical, these ten people will be able to receive the Holy Communion, should they wish to do so.

Despite the Archbishop’s instructions, the Metropolitans of Morphou and of Limassol have called upon the faithful to regularly attend the Divine Liturgy and receive the Holy Communion.
