“We are very excited to bless this Centre with the Archbishop,” Metropolitan Maximos of Ioannina stressed in his welcome speech.

“Here, in Ioannina, with the participation and active contribution of all bodies concerned, recycling has become an issue of high importance. That is why we express our joy and congratulate especially young people,” the Metropolitan said.

In his welcome speech, Director General of “Apostoli” NGO Kostis Dimtsas stressed that it is of high importance to promote environmental education, and raise the awareness of young people and especially students.

On his part, Archbishop Ieronymos stressed that “people are blessed with gifts either one or five. It is our obligation to develop these gifts. There will always be someone who considers these things unnecessary. Do not hear them. They will continue their work either in the community, or in the region, or anywhere else in this society. They will stick to their comments. And within the Church? And within the Church. So, you have better do your job. Do not to be intimidated by their comments. And if you’ve read this nice book, there is a quote saying that when you have a nice job, ‘the dogs bark, but the caravan goes on.'”
