Archbishop Ieronymos ordained the new Metropolitan of Sisanio and Siatista

Within a bright atmosphere, today, Saturday March 23, there took place the ordainment of the new voted Metropolitan Athanasios of Sisanio and Siatista at the Church of Evangelismos tis Theotokou, in Athens.

The Divine Liturgy was precided by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, assisted by the Metropolitans Eustathios of Sparta, Panteleimon of Veroia, Ierotheos of Nafpaktos, Ignatios of Demetrias, Damaskinos of Joppa (Patriarchate of Jerusalem), Serapheim of Piraeus, Dorotheos of Syros, Chrysostomos of Chalkida, Paulos of Kozani,  Chrysostomos of Patra, Paulos of Drama, Theofilos of Leukada,  Georgios of Thebe, Callinikos of Paronaxia, Kallinikos of Arta, Athinagoras of Ilion, Theoktistos of Fokis,  Kyrillos of Kifisia, Ioannis of Lagada, Gabriel of Nea Ionia, Antonios of Glyfada, Chrysostomos of Preveza, Timotheos of Thessalia, Klemes of Peristeri, David of Grevena, Chrysostomos of Trikkis and Stagon, Ioustinos of Kalamaria, Ieronymsos of Larisa, Chrystostomos of Mani, and the Bishops Symeon of Thespies and Androusis Konstantios.

Addressing the new Metropolitan Athanasios of Siatista,  the Archbishop stressed the following: “Your choice gave a message to all of us, that the new Bishop of Sisanio and Siatista was elected with the internal power of the soul of all the Hierarchs of the Church. Because it is rear, but not unprecedented, that new Hierarchs of the Church are elected unanimously by the Archbishops. The fact that you are chosen by 71 Archbishops is of special importance to our Hierarchy and the hope of the Church”.

“The unity of the Church is its power, the unity of the church shall overcome all the difficulties in its way. For this reason, we are all here to support you and may God guide you all the way”, concluded Archbishop Ieronymos.
