Turks refute report on Erdogan’s order to shoot down a Greek fighter jet or sink a Greek ship

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

The Turkish Foreign Ministry, through its spokesperson, Hami Aksoy, refuted the report of the German newspaper Die Welt, which claimed that Recep Tayyip Erdogan wanted to foment trouble with Greece, in order to drag the country into negotiations.

According to the spokesperson, the publication that refers to Turkey “is nothing more than a fantasy.”

Aksoy pointed out that “the accusations made against our country by the Greek government spokesperson based on this publication, which is nothing more than a fantasy, show that this country is far from the reality of the eastern Mediterranean and is a result of provocative policy that is not in line with international practice and law.

Instead of the Greek authorities dealing with these lies, they should stop taking steps that increase the tension in the region.”
