The profound external renovation of St. George Cathedral in Stockholm has been completed, and the announcement of the Metropolis of Sweden speaks about a “miraculous intervention of divine grace”.

The church is of neo-Gothic style, with simple lines in its interior, was founded in 1889 and completed in 1890. In 1976, it was donated to the Metropolis of Sweden, under the bishopric of the previous Metropolitan of Stockholm, Pavlos.

This is the first time that such an extensive and large-scale renovation is attempted. The Cathedral is a point of spiritual reference; it is a sacred site of prayer, meditation and dialogue.
