Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived in The Hague on Thursday night, November 7, after the two-day Ecological Symposium in Amsterdam, which has been concluded.

Shortly before leaving the Dutch capital, the Patriarch had the opportunity to visit and tour Anna Frank’s House on the Prinsengracht (Anna Frank Huis) canal.

Arriving in the second capital of the Netherlands, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was warmly welcomed by Greek Ambassador Nikolaos Plexidas to the ambassador’s residence, where an official dinner was held. The new Ambassador of Greece to the Netherlands welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch with warm words and invoked the Patriarchal Wishes and Blessings for the start of his term.

Today, Friday, November 8, the Patriarch will have meetings with the Senate and then with the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, at the Peace Palace, and then he will visit the Turkish Embassy.
