The Archbishop of Australia at the Imbrian Association of Adelaide

While Archbishop Makarios of Australia was in Adelaide for a pastoral visit, he was informed by church believers on Sunday at St George’s Church where he officiated, that the Adelaide Association of Imbrians is celebrating Father’s Day (which is celebrated in Australia on the first Sunday of September).

The Archbishop, wishing to honor the birthplace of Patriarch Bartholomew and, although a visit to the House of Imbrians was not scheduled, changed his schedule and visited the Imbrian Association, where he was welcomed with deep and emotional enthusiasm.

Members of the Association thanked Archbishop Makarios emphasizing that his presence remind them of the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew in 1996, during which His Holiness inaugurated the premises of the Association.

The Archbishop urged the Imbrians to visit their island as often as possible and not to forget their morals and traditions. At the same time, he conveyed to all the patriarchal wishes of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

It should be noted that Makarios was accompanied by the Bishops Paul of Christianoupolis and Nikandros of Dorilaiou.
