The Archbishop Ieronymos met with the US Ambassador on Religious Freedom

Mr. Samuel Brownback, US Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, visited Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, on Monday afternoon.

Mr Brownback was accompanied by Riley Barnes, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour, Mrs. Pauletta Walsh, religious attaché, Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt, US Ambassador to Greece, and Mrs. Holly Metcalf, Political Officer for Religious Affairs.

The Protosyncellus Bishop Symeon of Thespies welcomed Mr. Brownback and his colleagues at the entrance of the Archbishopric.

The Archbishop welcomed Mr. Brownback and the members of the mission, and they discussed various issues of common interest, including the question of the Ukrainian Church.

According to romfea.gr, today Mr. Brownback is expected to be received by abbots of the monasteries of Mount Athos and the civil administrator, Konstantinos Dimtsas.
