Representatives of the consular corps meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch at the Halki seminary

25 Consul Generals of various states serving in Constantinople, visited the Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Halki, where the historic Theological School operated, on Monday, October 7, led by the President of the Consulate General, Consul General of Croatia, Ivana Zerec.

The foreign diplomats were welcomed by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in the Synodikon Hall of the Monastery, in the presence of its Abbot, Bishop Kyrillos of Erythres. The Patriarch informed them about the history of the seminary, about the ministry and the initiatives of the Ecumenical Throne and shared with them his memories from his years of studying in Halki.

The Ecumenical Patriarch encouraged the present Grand ArchdeaconTheodoros to speak about the offering of the Theological School to the Sacred Texts and to broader education, through its graduates who have served the Church from several posts throughout the world.

The meeting was also attended by a representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, who honorably accompanied the Consul Generals.
