The parish of Saint Procopius in Tirana celebrated the memory of the saint along with dozens of believers from the capital of Albania and the wider region.
On the eve of the feast of Saint Procopius, Monday, July 8, the Orthros Service and the Divine Liturgy was performed, and then there was a procession of the holy icon.
Bishop Asti of Byllis officiated the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by priests of Tirana.
In his sermon, the Bishop referred to the life of Saint Procopius. When a radiant Cross appeared in the air, the persecutor of Christians heard a voice exclaiming, “I am the crucified Jesus, the Son of God.” This miracle, this divine sign, turned this new persecutor to faith in the Lord.
His mother turned him in. Saint Procopius, after torments and imprisonment, was beheaded.
