Pope Francis prays for the people who have been hit by the virus, but also for those who are worried about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing a small group of priests and monks, he said from his personal residence that he prays for those who feel depressed because they worry about the future and for those whose life has become unbearable because they do not have job or money. “Let us pray during today’s service for all the people who are suffering because they are either alone or they do not know what the future holds for them or they cannot feed their families as they have no money or job. Sorrow has overwhelmed so many people. So, let us pray for them today,” he said.

Many people who live in deprived areas in Paris face a tragic situation and, therefore, resort to food banks. The French government has announced a € 39 million emergency food assistance plan for communities in need. Providing food assistance may be an easy solution to one of the long-standing problems in Paris.
