Patriarchal Divine Liturgy at the Phanar for Saint Sava of Serbia

A Patriarchal and Synodical Divine Liturgy, presided by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, will be celebrated on Sunday, October 13, at the Church of St. George in the Phanar for the 800th anniversary of the ordination of Saint Sava, Archbishop of the Serbs, by the late Ecumenical Patriarch Manuel I of Constantinople in Nicaea.

Following a decision of the Synod, the Ecumenical Patriarchate will duly commemorate this anniversary that is a milestone in its relations with the Church of Serbia.

According to the announcement of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the celebration of the day will be delivered by Metropolitan Maximos of Sylivria. After the dismissal, a Trisagion service for Ecumenical Patriarch Manuel I will follow.

The day before, on Saturday, October 12, Patriarch Bartholomew will pay a pilgrimage visit with the Hierarchy of the Throne and the Greek community of Constantinople in Nicaea (Iznik).
