Orthodoxy in France through its historical monuments

In the context of European Heritage Days, an institution that started in France in 1984 and is now adopted by most European countries, a tour of the Cathedral of Saint Stephen of Paris and its history, was held yesterday for the first time in the premises of the temple, by the distinguished Byzantine scholar Alexis Chrysostalis, at the initiative of the Holy Metropolis of France.

Immediately after the Sunday Divine Liturgy, the doors of the church remained open to visitors who wanted to get acquainted with traditional Byzantine architecture and hagiography, learn about Byzantine ecclesiastical music and ask questions about the Orthodox Church.

The visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the building of the holy metropolitan temple, its architecture, iconography, the personalities that contributed to its support and development.
