Ordination of Bishop Aimilianos of Meloa by Archbishop of Australia

On Christmas Eve, the Christmas Divine Liturgy was solemnly celebrated at the Cathedral of The Annunciation of the Theotokos in Sydney. At the same time, the Protosyncellus of the Australian Archdiocese, the newly-elected Bishop of Meloa, was ordained to Bishop. He was given the name ‘Aimilianos’ in order to honour his spiritual father, Elder Aimilianos from Simonos Petras monastery.

Archbishop Makarios of Australia presided over the Divine Liturgy which was concelebrated by Metropolitan Seraphim of Sevastia, Bishops Ezekiel of Dervis, Iakovos of Miletoupolis, and Michael from the Romanian Orthodox Church. Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, Bishop Silouan of Sinope, and many Australian clergymen attended the Divine Liturgy.
