No masses, weddings, funerals in Catholic churches in Italy until April 3 due to coronavirus outbreak

The Episcopal Conference of Italy, in the context of the emergency measures against the coronavirus, has decided that the liturgical services will be suspended in all churches of Italy until April 3.

No weddings or funerals will be conducted in churches. “This is a painful decision, but it is appropriate as an immediate measure to protect public health,” the Episcopal Conference of Italy points out.

At the same time, it clarifies that it adopts and implements the Italian government’s measures to limit the coronavirus spread because the Catholic Church is concerned about the state of emergency imposed.
