The Council of the Community of Volissos called the new Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Michael Kratsios-Kotsakas, “Volissianos”, that is a person who comes from Volissos, a village in Chios.
According to the President of the Community, Sotiris Paradisis, “He is known for his frequent visits to his village along with his parents. John Kratsios and Mary Kotsaka are loved by the small community of Volissos. This year Michael Kratsios-Kotsakas could not come to Volissos, due to the coronavirus, but last summer he had come here to spend his holidays for a while, although he was already the Chief Technology Officer of the United States in the White House.”
In a congratulatory letter, the Council of the Community of Volissos states that the people of Volissos felt joy and took great pride in his appointment. “We convey the feelings of all the people of Volissos and our warmest congratulations on your appointment. We look forward to the moment when you will be able to be among us again, in order to welcome you with all our love and with all honours.”
