A decision, made by Aristos Kasmiroglou, deputy civil governor of Mount Athos, to suspend the entrance of outside visitors and pilgrims to the Athonite State until March 30, 2020, was issued a while ago.

This decision excludes officials and employees of the Peninsula of Athos.

The Holy Community of Mount Athos accepted the government’s decisions as formulated and published in the Joint Ministerial Order of March 16.

It provides for the temporary prohibition of performing all sorts of services and rituals on all sites of religious worship, throughout the Greek territory, for preventive public health reasons and for the period from 16.3.2020 to 30.3.2020.
