Metropolitan Polykarpos of Spain and Portugal said farewell to the faithful in a message, at the beginning of his usual stay in Greece each July.
Specifically he stated “I ask for your prayers to all the clergy, faithful and friends of our Sacra Metropolis before my departure to Greece to spend my usual stay of every July. In the Holy Scriptures (Proverbs 18,19) and in the writings of the Holy Fathers of the Desert it is read: ‘A brother helped by his brother is more than a walled city, he is strong as a palace.’ I pray also for all you and I give you my fatherly blessing.”
