“We are shocked by what happened on the South Island of New Zealand,” says Metropolitan Myron, speaking at the Radio Station 98.4.

He states that New Zealand is an open and tolerant society, while explaining that there is no information about dead or injured Greeks and that he will immediatelly contact the Muslim community to express his sympathy.

On the South Island, where the carnage took place, the Greek community is safe, he said.

“All this is unprecedented for us. We do not feel insecure. New Zealand is a safe and peaceful country. We are all children of the same God, siblings and one,” he adds among other things.
