Metropolis of Athens celebrates Palm Sunday

In the presence of a faithful crowd, Palm (Passion) Sunday was celebrated today at the Evangelismos tis Theotokou Metropolitan Church of Athens.

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece presided the Archieratic Divine Liturgy, assisted by the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese Bishop Symeon of Thespies, the Primate of the Church, Father Thomas and fellow priests.

The Pastor of the Metropolitan Church, Archimandrite Chrysostomos Koulouriotis, preached God’s word referring to the significance of Palm Sunday.

The Divine Service was attended by the Deputy Citizen’s Protection Minister Katerina Papakosta, the Minister of Tourism Elena Kountoura and a crowd of faithful.

It is finally worth mentioning that a crowd of worshippers swarmed the Metropolis to honor the commemoration of the triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, days before he was crucified.
