Mercenaries from Syria will fight against Greece, Turkish media report

The rhetoric of the threats was once again continued by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while at the same time on its front page the Turkish newspaper Turkiye reports that in case of war, mercenaries from Syria will fight against Greece.

“When we broke the games of those who tried to imprison a country with 780.000 square kilometres of land from a 10 square kilometres island off the Eastern Mediterranean coast, we found no one by our side,” Erdogan said last night after the completion of the scheduled meeting of the Ministerial Council, on the agenda of which was the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, reports skai.gr.

Saying that for the security of its border and in regards to its rights in the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkey will remain steadfast until the end and will continue to actively monitor the unfolding policy.

Erdogan said as well:

“To those who, instead of sitting at the table with us, are fighting with their disbanded military forces, I leave history aside and tell them to at least look at our diplomatic work and military operations over the last 4 years.
We have the infrastructure and the will to effectively engage every mechanism, from diplomacy to military power, when it is necessary to protect our independence and our future, which is why they count on us so much,” Erdogan said.

“Those who try to create faits accomplis in the Mediterranean and the Aegean without learning their lessons from history will have to accept the truth sooner or later. I hope they will not pay a heavy price,” he said.
