In a devout and pious atmosphere, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided the Lamentation Upon the Grave (Epitaphios Threnos) Service at the Holy Patriarchal Church, assisted by the sojourners Metropolitans.
The emotional spirit reached its peak during the procession of the Epitaph, inside and outside the Patriarchal Church, when the believers sprinkled the untainted body of Christ with flowers.
The Service was also attended by the Consul of Greece to Ankara and the Consul General in Constantinople, as well as the crowd of believers from Constantinople and abroad.
