Greek PM thanked the Church for its help in the collective effort

Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens

The Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, informed in a telephone communication Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, about the developments on the front of the pandemic.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis wished the Archbishop Happy Easter and a Happy Resurrection Day, and asked him about his health condition.

Archdbishop Ieronymos informed the Prime Minister that things are going very well and he will perform the services normally, starting today, at the Cathedral of Athens.

During the communication, PM Mitsotakis informed Archbishop Ieronymos about the progress of the coronavirus pandemic and thanked the Church for its significant help in this collective effort.

The Archbishop stressed that the Church trusts the work of the government and the difficult and effective struggle the Prime Minister himself has undertaken to protect public health. He noted that the Church has always stood by the State on all issues of national importance, such as this ordeal, and follows the instructions and suggestions of the competent authorities, as what matters is the health of all our fellow citizens.
