Greek PM: Our faith is not in danger, the health of the faithful is

Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis

The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, pointed out, in a televised message he addressed to the citizens of the country on Monday, the special challenges that this year’s Holy Week has, especially for the faithful.

“We will remember this Easter as the Easter of Love. But also of Responsibility. We will experience it without our beloved ones. And far away from our lands. And, without being able to make a pilgrimage to the churches. I know it is very difficult,” the Prime Minister stressed.

PM Mitsotakis also underlined the need for strict obedience to the measures as “our faith is not endangered, but the health of the faithful is. Thus, however, we will justify the true message of the great feast. Which is the victory of life over death.”

Speaking about the criticality of the days we live in, the Prime Minister said that “Today I am telling you that this is the most critical week! A really Great Week. This year, our Passions and sacrifices are imprinted in this week, in order to overcome the Golgotha of the pandemic and to reach the Resurrection.”

Closing his message to the citizens, he wished “Happy Easter to all.”
