Greek humanitarian aid to Lebanon

The mission of humanitarian aid to the people of Lebanon – food, medicine and medical supplies as well as construction materials – is being prepared by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following an order from Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Greece, responding to the Lebanese request, will once again stand in solidarity with the Lebanese people and will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the country that is trying to stand on its own feet after the catastrophic consequences of the explosion in Beirut on August 4, 2020.

Greece was the first country to respond immediately to the most difficult moments with a mission of EMAK team – Greek Disaster Response Unit- (consisting of 12 rescuers and a dog), two vehicles, as well as with the transfer of medical personnel and four tons of medical supplies from the Tank Landing Ship HS Ikaria, also responding to the request of the Cypriot government for the transfer of its humanitarian material to Beirut.
