Greece–Serbia agreement with focus on religious–pilgrimage tourism

An agreement proposed by the Ministry of Tourism between the governments of Greece and Serbia for cooperation in tourism was ratified by the Greek Parliament as reported by kathimerini.gr.

The Minister of Tourism, Charis Theocharis, stated: “The Ministry of Tourism systematically monitor the indicators of the Serbian tourism market, noting the great growth that is taking place, especially during the last two years. In this context, we considered it imperative to conclude a new Greece–Serbia agreement, especially in the tourism sector and always with the aim of further consolidating the Greek tourism industry as dominant in the Balkans and Southern Europe.”

In short, the Greece–Serbia agreement includes, among other things, the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the field of special forms of tourism with focus on religious–pilgrimage tourism and other forms.
