A big fragment of the holy relic of St. Anastasia “Farmakolytrias” (“The Deliverer from Potions”) was offered to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew by f. Bogdan Guliamov and f. Petr Zuev from the Autocephalous Ukrainian Church, during a meeting today, Wednesday, April 10, at the Fener.

Metropolitan Apostolos Miletus and Abbot of the Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monastery of St. Anastasia Farmakolytrias in Vasilika, Chalkidiki, also attended the meeting.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew thanked the two clerics for their offer and gave the holy relic to the Metropolitan of Miletus in order to place it in the historic Monastery in Chalkidiki and in order that the faithful can venerate it.

He hoped that this offer would set the scene for the return to the monastery of the relics, including the skull, of the saint, which were kept in monastery’s Katholikon until 2012 when the relics were stolen and have not been recovered.
