The feast of St. Euphemia was celebrated at the Ecumenical Patriarchate in an emotionally charged atmosphere. The holy relics of the Saint are kept in the Patriarchal Church of Saint George.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Vespers Service yesterday, on the eve of the feast, at the Patriarchal Church. The service was co-celebrated by Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imvros and Tenedos. The Metropolitan of Imvros and Tenedos presided over the Divine Liturgy today, Saturday, 11 July, while the Ecumenical Patriarch was praying at the Holy Altar.
The holy relics of the Saint were placed inside the church for veneration by the faithful on both days.
