The new episode of the documentary series “Mount Athos-Digital Age”, produced by COSMOTE TV, which will be shown on Friday (17/4) at 21.00 (Athens time) on COSMOTE HISTORY HD and at the same time -free for the public- at COSMOTE HISTORY @YouTube, presents everyday life on Mount Athos.
Through the narrations of the monks of Mount Athos, viewers will get to know the different faces of the daily life of this Holy Place, the way the Fathers of Mount Athos perceive the “abaton” (inaccessible), as well as the “Athonite Digital Ark”, the new website that brings to light for the first time the rare cultural wealth of the Athonite State.
On Easter Sunday (19/4), COSMOTE HISTORY HD subscribers will have the opportunity to get to know the story and work of Elder Archimandrite Ephraim of Philotheou – Arizona, through the new episode of the series “Modern Elders”, which is broadcast in the context of the channel’s homonymous monthly tribute.
The episode shows, among other things, how, after the death of his spiritual father, Elder Joseph the Hesychast, Ephraim took over the Monastery of Philotheou, while a little later he traveled to America, where, based in Arizona, he created 19 monastic communities (21:00, COSMOTE HISTORY HD & at the same time on COSMOTE HISTORY @YouTube).
