Event of the Archdiocese of Australia for the 200 years since the Greek Revolution

On Saturday, September 19, 2020, the inaugural event of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia for the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution will take place in Picton, New South Wales.

In particular, the National Commission, established by the Holy Archdiocese for the anniversary of Greek, has organized four events as part of the inaugural event, which will be dedicated to the pioneer settler Antonis (son of) Manolis and will have the following theme:

Tribute to Antonis (son of) Manolis (1804-1880)

At 12:00 noon there will be a Trisagion service on the tomb of Antonis (son of) Manolis, by Archbishop Makarios of Australia (Upper Picton Cemetery, Wild Street, Picton).

Then the unveiling of street signs with the name of Antonis (son of) Manolis will take place, in the presence of the Archbishop, State, Consular and Municipal Authorities, as well as expatriate agents (Upper Picton Cemetery, Wild Street, Picton).

This will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the Picton War Memorial (Memorial Park, Argyle Street, Picton) and a banquet and speech by Dr. Panagiotis Diamantis on: The historical information we have about Antonis (son of) Manolis (Vaby’s Restaurant, 2 Station Street, Picton).
