Erdogan: Turkey will get what it deserves in Eastern Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Sea

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made new inflammatory statements against Greece, in the form of direct threats, on Wednesday morning, in his speech about the 949th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert.

Escalating the provocative rhetoric he had used through a video post yesterday, the Turkish president noted, among other things:

“If Greece wants to pay the price, let it come and confront us. If they do not have the courage to do so, they will have to stay out of our way.”

He went to say that Greece was “unworthy of the Byzantine heritage” and that Athens “refuses to take lessons from history and acts as a fake bully in the Mediterranean”.

“Turkey will get what it deserves in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean and the Black Sea, we will not make any concessions. We call on our interlocutors to stay away from mistakes that will be disastrous from them. We will not make concessions on what is ours… We are determined to do whatever is necessary,” he added.
