Ecumenical Patriarchate denies the strong rumors that have been circulating about the Patriarch’s imminent visit to Kiev, for the enthronement of the new Primate of the Church of Ukraine, Epiphanius.

More specifically, after communicating with Romfea.gr, a source of the Patriarchate stressed that, first, the Patriarch will be in Constantinople during the weekend, and secondly, he does not participate in Primates’ enthronements. 

According to Romfea.gr information, a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, composed of Metropolitan Emmanuel of France, Metropolitan Amphilochios of Adrianople, Abbot of Vatopedi Monastery Elder Ephraim, Abbot of Xenophontos Monastery Elder Alexios and the Exarch of the Kiev Patriarchate, Archimandrite Mikhail Anishchenko.

However, it is worth noting that in the near future it cannot be excluded that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will make an official visit to Ukraine.
