On Sunday morning, on the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy held in the homonymous church in Diplokionio.

In his speech, the Ecumenical Patriarch referred to the importance of the feast and the relationship of Christians, and especially the faithful living in Constantinople, with the Theotokos.

The Ecumenical Patriarch congratulated for Metropolitan Eirinaios of Myriofyto, Archimandrite Kaisarios Chronis, and members of the Church Committee in the Middle East on their work.

The Interparliamentary Assembly On Orthodoxy (IOA) has also successfully promoted dialogue with parliaments on religions, notably with Islam, and is currently in talks with a group of experts under the Presidency of the Republic of Lebanon to set up a religious persecution observatory.

In addition, it noted the positive response by the administration of the Neapolis University Paphos (NUP) regarding the establishment of one body within the NUP to promote the rights of Christians in the wider Middle East.
