Ecumenical Patriarch met acting Secretary-General of World Council of Churches

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met the acting Secretary-General of the World Council of Churches (WCC), Dr. Ioan Sauca, at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy, Geneva, to discuss issues related to the preparation of the 11th meeting of WWC to be held in 2022.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew discussed ways to promote the ecumenical movement with Fr. Ioan Sauca, who is the first Orthodox to serve as the head of WCC.

The meeting was attended by Metropolitans Athenagoras of Belgium, Maximos of Switzerland, and the Permanent Representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to WCC, Archbishop Job of Telmessos.

The meeting took place in the margins of the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy.
