“The joint ministerial decision is clear, no procession is allowed for all religious denominations,” said Deputy Minister for Civil Protection Nikos Chardalias, answering a reporter’s question about tendencies in the church in favor of holding processions.
“We will all be in our churches, we will pay tribute to the Theotokos, but it will be done under certain health conditions,” continued the deputy minister.
The deputy minister also said that his cooperation so far with the Church of Greece had been “excellent,” whose initiatives “prove the excellent way in which the Church deals with the situation, with responsibility, consistency and seriousness, and it is very important that in all the churches, we see that all the necessary measures are observed.”
