Church of Crete sent a letter to Greek PM for the opening of the temples

Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete

In the announcement of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, the members of the Holy Synod sent a letter to the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in order to request the reopening of the churches.

According to the relevant announcement, the letter was sent last Friday and the decision of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete was unanimous and was further communicated to the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

In fact, as reported, the hierarchs of Crete “put forward specific proposals, always observing the necessary protection measures to avoid the coronavirus spread.”

It is recalled that a similar letter to the Greek prime minister has been sent by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens, with which he essentially sent an ultimatum until Tuesday to open the churches.
