The School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia has expressed its support for Archbishop Makarios, and unequivocally condemns the malicious comments that have the sole purpose of hurting not only the Archbishop himself but also the whole body of the Church.

In a statement issued, the Byzantine Music School stressed, among other things, that “We completely trust the face of the Archbishop who, as a gold in digestion, silently endures the hits that hit him and the entire body of the Church… . We find that rather jealous on the one hand and intolerance on the other is the source of evil.”

He emphasizes that “In the midst of an era characterized by passivity and fear of tomorrow, His Eminence recruited his insight and creativity for a Church that cares, creates and dares.”

On behalf of the “School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia” we condemn the defamatory, unjust and inaccurate comments that are broadcast irresponsible and malicious by various (mainly Greek) media aiming at His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. Our conscience does not allow it to remain dormant and silent at these hours when the Church in Archbishop Makarios’s face is being tested and put.

We support without any hesitation the virtuous shepherd of our local church. We are next to him without being affected by the minimum of what is written and heard.

We completely trust the face of the Archbishop who, as a gold in digestion, silently endures the hits that hit him and the entire body of the Church. We are unable to accept the comments made on the occasion of the purchase of property from the Consolidated Trust of the Holy Archdiocese. We find that rather jealous on the one hand and intolerance on the other is the source of evil. We invite those who have been affected by noise to show patience and not to jump to conclusions.

About a year ago we welcomed our new elected Archbishop. The choice of our Ecumenical Patriarchate was not by accident. It was a thorous decision. We won a worthy leader, we found through his works that we are guided by a genuine body of the Holy Orthodox Orthodox tradition, labor, philoponous, pious who is his diakonema with fear of God. We see his desire to come out “the phthongos of the Holy Apostles to the ends of the World”

In the midst of an era characterized by passivity and fear of tomorrow, His Eminence recruited his insight and creativity for a Church he cares, which he creates and that dare. The School of Byzantine Music, which is its own initiative, is one of the many signs of determination and diligence that distinguish him.

We complete our intervention with the message that we are standing next to our septic, labor and dedicated Shepherd companion and synkyrenees.

We are being crucified to co-resurrect.
